Vertical Testing of Vigna Tabaria 1998 - 2008
On 22 June 2009 Luca Abrate has hosted, in Pollenzo Italy, a vertical tasting of 8 Roero Arneis Vigna Tabaria vintages.
The evening, organized for wine critics and trade professionals, was held in the Sala Rossa of the Hotel Albergo dell'Agenzia di Pollenzo (A Slow Food presidium and centre of the University of Gastronomic Sciences). The tasting was guided by Gianni Fabrizio of the Gambero Rosso/Guida ai Vini d'Italia.
A total of 8 vintages were tasted during the evening, starting from the 1998 up to 2008 vintage. It is probably the first time that a professional vertical tasting of Roero Arneis has been organized and the response has been very positive. During the evening there was a general consensus on the fact that Vigna Tabaria can age gracefully producing very interesting wines.
